Salon Policies
You affirm you are the rightful legal owner or care giver to the pet for which services are rendered. By booking an appointment with us, you agree to and acknowledge the following:
PAYMENT INFO
Payment is due at time of service. Kae-9 By Design LLC accepts cash or credit card payments. We do not accept checks at this time.
PICK-UP POLICY/Post-Groom care Fee
Once you have been contacted that your pet is ready, you have a 2 hour grace period for pick-up. After the 2 hours, a $20 Post-Groom Care fee will be applied to the bill, and the pet will get a potty break, water, and our time and space. We ask for communication of an estimated time of pickup so that we can arrange how to care for your pets accordingly.
RUNNING LATE?
We understand, life is crazy and things happen. However, if you are running more than 15 minutes late according to our clock, the appointment may have to be rescheduled. We will do what we can to get you in as soon as possible. Please let us know as soon as possible if you’re going to be late. No-Show & Cancellation Policy may be applied. (See below)
NO-SHOW & CANCELLATION
We understand that sometimes it is necessary to reschedule or cancel appointments. We kindly ask that you give us a minimum 24-hour notice to cancel/reschedule your appointment. If an appointment is cancelled/rescheduled less than 24-hours before your appointment time, you will be charged 50% of the full scheduled service price.
- We make sure every guest is made aware of our No-Show/Late Cancellation Policy when scheduling an appointment over the phone or through text message/email reminders.
- We will secure each guest’s billing information on file prior to scheduling any service.
- When an appointment is missed we will automatically charge 50% of the scheduled service price to the card on file.
- If necessary, the next appointment cannot be scheduled without amending the missed or late-cancelled appointment (including missing appointments due to late arrival).
- When a No-Show/Late Cancellation occurs, it takes large blocks of time that impact our groomers and other guests. We understand that sometimes things happen, however, we try to respect our groomers time as much as we try to respect yours.
*If you cannot get through to our front desk please leave a message that you would like to reschedule or cancel your appointment and we will get back with you. We appreciate your understanding!
MATTED OR NEGLECTED COAT
Excessive dematting is a painful, time-consuming, and costly procedure that causes extreme discomfort and can aggravate or cause skin problems. Neglect of the pet’s coat can be cause for problems after grooming such as clipper/brush irritation. If your pet does not remain still accidents can happen such as cuts or nicks from clippers/scissors. However, it is at Kae-9 By Design’s discretion to determine if it is safe for the pet to be de-matted.
If it is decided by us that dematting is not a good option, a “shave-down“ of the pet’s coat will be completed (additional fee for shave down). Shaving your pet may dramatically change your pet’s appearance and the hair will be very close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin conditions. Closely shaved pets are also prone to sunburn & should either have sunscreen applied daily or should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. In certain breeds & coat types, the coat may not grow back the same. Removing a heavily matted coat includes the risk of nicks, cuts and/or abrasions due to moles, warts or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin which can cause mold, fungus, bacteria, or skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. The after-effects of mat removal procedures may include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, or failure of hair to re-grow. You are responsible for the condition of the pet’s coat and will not hold Kae-9 By Design LLC responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat removal.
CURRENT VACCINATIONS/VETERINARY INFORMATION
Your pets safety is first at Kae-9 By Design. We require a current rabies vaccination expiration date before any grooming services will be performed. Proof of Rabies Vaccination shall be provided to Kae-9 By Design LLC upon request as well as current Veterinarian information. When requested, you may bring in verification to the salon, email to kae9bydesign@gmail.com, or fax to us at (855) 726-8624.
SAFETY/DOG BEHAVIOR
You must inform us prior to grooming if your pet has ever bitten someone or has aggressive tendencies. Kae-9 By Design LLC will not accept any aggressive dog. If false accusations about the pets behavior were made when asked during booking of an appointment, we will discontinue services and you will still be responsible for the full grooming charge. You will be liable for any bites or any property damage caused by your pet(s). For our Groomer’s safety as well as your pet’s, Kae-9 By Design has the right to refuse service in the event a pet cannot be handled safely. We do NOT take new clients on ANY drugs that are designed to sedate or calm animals such as but not limited to; Ace and trazodone and others with the same effect. FOR OVERLY AGGRESSIVE OR OVERLY STRESSED PETS, KAE-9 BY DESIGN LLC WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN YOU AS A CLIENT.
SENIOR PETS AND PETS WITH HEALTH ISSUES
Grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress. Kae-9 By Design LLC will not be responsible for accident or injury to an elderly or health-compromised pet during their grooming.
FLEA/TICK INFESTATION/SALON SANITATION
Flea and tick infestation will NOT be tolerated. You are responsible for keeping your pet(s) flea and tick free. If a flea or tick is found on your pet, Kae-9 By Design LLC will administer a flea and tick shampoo to eradicate the fleas in order to maintain salon sanitation. We reserve the right to refer to a vet and/or charge an additional $25 towards flea and tick removal. There may be side effects, including but not limited to allergic reactions, which may result from the manufacturer-recommended usage of said products, which you agree that Kae-9 By Design LLC will not be held responsible for. Additionally, you are also aware that any such treatments are not guaranteed to be one hundred percent effective.
PARASITES & SICKNESS
Parasites, including but not limited to worms and mites, will result in end of service at any given stage and will be referred to a vet for treatment. Kae-9 By Design LLC will give a recommendation for finishing the grooming appointment at a later date when treatment is successful. If a pet is sick (vomiting, coughing, lethargic) Kae-9 By Design LLC has the right to end service and refer to a vet for safety and health reasons. You are responsible for payment of the grooming service/cancellation fee regardless of completion.
PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS
Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming and may require immediate medical attention. In the best interest of your pet, you designate Kae-9 By Design LLC as agent and understand that if Kae-9 By Design LLC is unable to contact you first, then Kae-9 By Design LLC, in its sole discretion, may engage the services of a veterinarian at your expense.
